Crafting a Nordic Identity
This branding project explores how visual identity can reflect the precision and material honesty of Nordic architecture. The goal was to create a cohesive system that feels both modern and grounded, translating the essence of custom-built homes into a clear and recognisable brand expression. Through typography, colour, and custom iconography, the identity is shaped to communicate trust, craftsmanship and clarity across all touchpoints.

INSPIRATION

COLOR PALETTE

The colour palette is inspired by natural building materials and the Nordic landscape. Shades like Asphalt, Concrete and Limestone create a grounded and durable foundation, reflecting strength and longevity. Lighter tones such as Chalk and Light Oak introduce warmth and balance, softening the overall expression.

Nordic Sea adds a subtle accent, bringing in a sense of depth and connection to the surrounding environment. Together, the palette creates a calm and timeless aesthetic that feels both modern and closely tied to the materials and context of contemporary Nordic architecture.

LOGOTYPE & WORDMARK
The logotype draws on architectural references such as facades and window frames, resulting in a subtle and recognisable mark. Its minimal construction and careful use of line create a clear and deliberate expression. The form is understated yet distinctive, sitting naturally within an architectural context.
The wordmark continues this expression through its light and precise line work. It reinforces the same sense of clarity and restraint while ensuring legibility and balance. Combined, they form a cohesive identity shaped by structure and simplicity, where symbol and typography work together as one.

ICONS
ICONS

I designed a set of custom icons to support and strengthen the brand’s key messages. Each icon is based on a simplified house shape, creating a consistent and recognisable foundation. Variations in line work are then used to express different qualities and ideas, while maintaining a clear and consistent visual expression.

Inspired by architectural drawings, solid and dashed lines are used to add meaning. Solid lines define structure and visible elements, while dashed lines reference what is hidden or secondary. This creates a visual language closely connected to the craft of designing and building homes.
